What is a piano chord?

Can you explain what piano chords are in the first place? Piano chords are expressed in order to play chords on the piano. So what is a code? What is a code?It is written as "Chord" in English, and in JapaneseIt refers to "chords." The chord isSounds played at least three sounds at the same timeIt means. Try pressing and holding "Do Mi So" at the same time. This is one code.

Role of code

The role of code is clearly stated:Creating the atmosphere of the song"is. It clearly shows the listener whether the song is a bright, dark, or sad song. Simply put a chord (chord) in your left hand while you're playing the melody with your right hand, and the song will become thicker. And to put this in reverse,You can break down the parts into chords based on the characteristics of the songThat's why. For example, songs that are played in classical orchestras can be expressed to some extent by using a variety of instruments. This is because the main sounds (sounds that express brightness and darkness) within the various instruments are broken down into chords. In particular, the part that corresponds to the left hand of the sheet music is often arranged and decorated with this chord.

Before the piano chord list

I'll explain what you should remember before introducing piano chords. That's here Immediately ""Dore Mi Fa Sorashid" alphabet nameis. "Do Re Mi Fa Sorashid" = "CDEFGABC." Do starts from C, and after that it will be in alphabetical order, but please note that after G, it will return to A. Code names are generally expressed as alphabetical names. Therefore, by memorizing sounds and alphabets, you can easily memorize chords. For example, the "C" chord is the chord of the alphabet name "C", so it is a chord with the "do" centered on. Similarly, the chord for "Fm" is the chord for the alphabet name "F", so it is a chord centered around "fa".

Piano chord list

There are so many different types of code. Even with the same piano chord, there are several different ways to play, with the same sound combination. I've never counted it, but I think there are over hundreds of them. This time, it is often usedmajor chordandminor chordHere are some of the following:

major chord

code nameCompatible soundskeyboard location
CDo Mi So C.E.G.
DLe Fa♯・La D・F♯・A
EMi, So♯, Si E, G♯, B
FFa la de F.A.C
GSo-shi-re G.B.D
ALa de ♯・Mi A・C♯・E
BShire♯・F♯ B・D♯・F♯
A distinctive feature of major chords is that they are easily "bright" and easily feel. Although people think differently, many people will feel cheerful after listening to all the major chords.

minor chord

code nameCompatible soundskeyboard location
CmDo-R-S♯・So C・D♯・G
DmLe Fa La D.F.A.
EmMi So Si E.G.B
FmFara♯ de F・A♯・C
GmSo-ra♯・Les G・A♯・D
AmLa de Mi A.C.E
BmShire F♯ B・D・F♯
Contrary to major chords, it is characterized by sounds that make you feel "dark" and "sad." I'm sure many people find it a distinctive dissonance.

How to remember major and minor chords

Among the many codes, these major and minor codes are commonly used, but there is actually a simple way to remember them. These are three chords, so we will explain these three sounds as ①②③.

major chord

  • ①: Keyboard corresponding to the alphabet name
→ “G” is the alphabet name “G”, so “S”
  • Insert the black key from the ① key play
→For “G”, the next “C” from “G” in ① to “S♯”, “A”, “La♯”
  • Insert the black key from the ② key ahead.
→If it is “G”, then “C” from ② “C” and “Re” after “C♯”

minor chord

  • ①: Keyboard corresponding to the alphabet name
→ “Cm” is the alphabet name “C” so “Do”
  • Insert the black key from the keyboard of ① play the keyboard
→For “Cm”, from ① “C” to “C♯” and “Re♯” after “Re”
  • Insert the black key from the ② key ahead.
→If it is "Cm", go to "Re♯" in ②, then "Mi", "Fa", and "Fa#" The following is how to remember. It's easy. As long as you know the sound of the keys, you can play them in any order. For example, the code for "C" is "do mi so", but "mi so do" and "so do mi" are the same code for "C". That's the explanation of major and minor chords. It's more of accustomed to it than learning. Play the chords from a simple song and try to feel it on your own.

・Up until now, I had been a little interested in the piano, but I didn't really know what chords (major and minor chords) were, so this was a great help.

・I'm a beginner at piano, so I hope I can learn it even a little.
