In Japan, the 2014 Disney film “Anna and the Snow Queen” was a huge hit upon its release, and as of 2018, it ranks third in Japan’s all-time box office rankings.
Among them, “Let It Go,” a song inserted in “Anna and the Snow Queen,” immediately became popular before the media attention, and the number of views on youtube grew at a tremendous rate.
Gradually, the song spread to people who had not seen the movie, and was eventually sung at the Kohaku Uta Gassen.
